Ministering to the Gypsies in Romania
After meeting up with the rest of the Global Celebration group under the wonderful leadership of Georgian and Winnie Banov at the Bucharest airport, we headed for the first Gypsy camp. They welcomed us with hugs, kisses and some meat and bread. The music was playing an soon everybody was dancing and rejoicing spontaneously. Though we do not speak each others language, everyone managed to understand that we were worshipping the LORD.

At one stage a group of drug dealers and gang leaders, full of tattoos and wearing head bands, arrived and stood watching the crowd, full of antagonism. Johan started to pray in tongues and a while later they spontaneously joined the little group where Johan and a few children were dancing. Before our group left, everyone of them shook his hand - Praise the Lord, they will never be the same again!

After a simple Gospel message and altar call, the Gypsies raised their hands and accepted Jesus - so precious and in a simple, child like manner! After a few more dances and sharing God’s love with one another, we left with the promise to return in the near future.
