Ministering to the Gypsies in Bulgaria
Together with Georgian and Winnie Banov of Global Celebration, we ministered at various Gypsy villages in Bulgaria. No one ever goes to these “hoods”. Society avoid these locations at all costs - these people are the poorest of poor, living from things picked up from the dumps, no running water or electricity, shunned and rejected by almost everyone.Yet when the awesome love and acceptance of Jesus starts to flow, miracle upon miracle happens: people give their lives to Jesus, the sick are healed, deaf ears begin to hear, tears start flowing and people are set free from bondage!

Feeding the Gypsies in Kazanlak…
At Kazanlak the children greeted us with bunches of red roses and showered us with acceptance, love and blessings. One little girl immediately came to me and stayed at my side for the rest of the day - she took us to meet and bless her family, and even blessed me with a few small presents: a coin, some sweets and nuts. It nearly broke my heart, but I knew I had to accept it in the awesome spirit of love and affection it was given…Even though they have so little, they give everything they have!
This village of 5000 is a powerful testimony to the awesome life transforming power of God. Only a few years ago, not even the local police force were willing to enter it for fear of their lives. Yet today, because of Jesus, many are believers and it is evident from the many new shops and enterprises that have sprung up, as well as the love shining from these Gypsy faces. Crosses are to be seen everywhere and everybody joined the joyous celebration of praising and worshipping Jesus.

At one stage Johan saw a few of the group members starting to minister to a drunken man that was totally stoned out of his mind. Johan walk over and laid hands on him - immediately he fell under the power of the Holy Spirit - with such a bang that his head literally hopped on the concrete. Johan immediately knelt and put his hands under his head - while still slain in the Spirit, the man took Johan’s hands and put it upon his heart where he held it with both his hands. After a while, when he came to and rose up, both his hands immediately rose in the air to praise and worship God! Another man set free by the awesome power of our God!
After feeding the 5000 Gypsy mouths with a special “Corban” meal, we broke up into teams and went to every home and apartment to bless each family. We witnessed awesome miracles: a heart condition was healed, peace restored and a young girl named Maria, suffering from scoliosis was set free and regained her joy and zest for life to such an extent that she started dancing with Johan. At various apartments the Lord gave us powerful prophecies that confirmed and strengthened the faith of the Gypsies.
Afterwards we gathered in the central courtyard for yet another praise and joyous worship celebration, while loving and ministering to one another.
