Habits

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”
- Aristotle -

Habits, good or bad, make you who you are. A few simple habits can change your future with your family, your spiritual life, your business, your career, your ministry, your health and your happiness. Success and fulfillment is a few simple habits - good habits - repeated every day!

All of us have good habits and bad habits. The key is controlling them. If you know how to change your habits, then even a small effort can create big changes, a small beginning can create a big miracle (Zec 4:10). It takes effort and persistence to form a good new habit. It is said that a habit is only formed after being repeated for 90 consecutive days!

So why is it so difficult to form a good new habit or to break a bad habit? The answer is that the things that are easy to do, are also easy not to do. It is easy to set your alarm and get up early each day to spend time with the Lord. In  Luke 5:16  we read that Jesus “continued his habit of retiring to deserted places and praying. ” But is also easy not to do it, to sleep and slumber a little longer (Prov 6:10-11). Do not try to break a bad habit, but try to replace it with a good one.

So if you are in the habit of “not doing it”, get in the habit of “doing it”. Do all it takes, and before you know it, success and fulfillment, a life in abundance (John 10:10) will be yours for the having.
