First Love
… for My name’s sake you have labored and have not fainted. But I have against you that you left your first love. Rev 2:3-4
Do you remember the time just after you met and fell in love with Jesus the first time? That awesome peace and joy that filled you and caused you sing to Him when no-one listened? That love and insatiable hunger that drove you to spend every spare minute that you had eating His word and learning more from Him?
Sometimes you get so caught up in doing things for God, that you miss God Himself. You get caught up in meetings, conferences, mission trips, ministry etc, which all have a place. But sometimes that thing that should have taken you closer to Jesus, is the very thing that take you away from coming apart and having an intense joy-filled, love-overflowing intimate encounter with Jesus, your All in all!
When last did you have that awesome, intimate personal encounter with Jesus Himself, when nothing else matter; an encounter that left you in awe, bursting with joy and helplessly in love with Him?
What is that one thing that caused you to fall in love with Jesus? That one thing that He has deposited in your heart that fills you with passion and divine energy? Decide today to repent, turn and to go back to your first love!
