Commitment
| MONDAY MOOD FOOD For your edification and encouragement 2009-1 |
| During July last year, late one night, a list of about 45 words dropped in Johan’s spirit in the matter of a minute, for the edification of the Body of Christ. Sometimes the Holy Spirit uses a simple single word to speak deeply into our very inner core… We now feel it is time to take a word a week and to meditate on it through a short wisdom nugget on Monday and a quote a day from Tuesday to Friday. Our first word is Commitment.

| If you want to succeed in life and have a fulfilled life in Christ, you need commitment. Commitment says I know what my goal is, and I am willing to overcome any obstacle that interferes with my goal, and I will persevere until I succeed. What is that one thing that God has placed in your heart? Are you really and truly committed to accomplish that? Are you willing to become a “lifer” in order to reach that goal?It takes courage to commit ourselves to something. Learn to make and keep commitments to yourself.Count your faith as your most valuable tool - greater than time, money, effort, or talent. You can accomplish great things if only you believe you can! Miracles happen with faith and commitment. You must begin your journey with an unshakable faith that God has given you all you need and that with Him nothing is impossible.Resolve to stay committed, no matter how many times you fall! Pro 24:16 gives us the assurance that a just one falls seven times, and rises up again for you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Phil 3:14).Once you are totally committed to a course of action, and you believe you can do it, your energy becomes boundless. Pray and commit today to say with Paul, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Tim 4:7 NIV). |
